Where to live with 2 children under 11 in London

Looking for advice to move to Finsbury Park area with 2 boys school aged under 11.
We are only here for 2 years due to work so would like to experience London, rather than commute from Richmond (which seems to be the location most recommended for families).

question - anyone have experience of this area and schools?
any other recommendations for where we could live in London that is safe with some good state schools or Catholic schools?
any advice greatly appreciated.

Finsbury Park itself I don’t know as well but Highbury / Canonbury / Angel / Crouch End are all nearby and very safe and family friendly

How far under 11? Do you need to consider secondary schools yet?

We have had some difficult experiences in Islington with catholic primary schools (reducing numbers of children, a few have closed, reduced funding and difficulties in having stable teaching staff) but have had a better experience moving out into a non religious school
