We’re travelling to London as a family. May be a personal preference but are we best to download oyster app to connect it to a card for payment using for underground. Or just swipe iPhone/Apple Watch for each use? Wasn’t sure if to pre buy an oster card and load it up. Thank you for recommendations

You have to have a physical Oyster card for the app. The app is just for topping up online.
I'd just tap contactless/apple if it's only for a short stay. The oyster only works out cheaper if you buy a weekly/monthly travel card.

You have to pay £7 for the physical oyster card, so there's no point when you can just use contactless.

How old are your DC? If aged 10 and younger, they travel for free, just take them through the pushchair/luggage gates. If aged 11+, then you'll need to buy them paper tickets unless they have their own contactless debit card, as you won't be able to touch in with your own card twice (once for you and once straight after for a DC)

Depending on how much travel you are doing in a day, it might be worth getting the DC a child fare one day travel card.
