Hello, a friend of mine is coming to London from abroad to celebrate her 40th. Given they have a baby I was thinking to them them out for a bday brunch. Would anyone have any recommendations for a nice place in central, north west London, maybe Notting Hill, Campden , Hampstead or near Covent Garden? Thx

Evening, would anyone have any recommendations? Been somewhere nice for brunch recently and could share?

Any particular type of food you are after?

Or price range you want?

Melaniais · 13/11/2023 00:45

I will look at any options

Meghan's do nice brunches..

Would avoid Covent Garden if they have a baby - gets so busy and the lift up from the tube is a pain . Dishoom Covent Garden also very nice if you can get a table . Cafe in the crypt at st martins also a family favourite - self service but really nice food .. followed by trip over the road to the national portrait gallery

Zedel Brasserie is family friendly. Not sure if they do brunch.

rogueone · 13/11/2023 07:45

We went to duck and waffle and found the food mediocre and the service was atrocious -

i like Meghans but central branches can be busy and filled with bottomless brunch guests.

For something slightly different you could try
https://cinnamon-bazaar.com/ this is in Covent Garden and child friendly

The Delaunay is a great place too just off Covent Garden

That's quite a big area - where are they staying/travelling from. You won't be short of options in those places.

Melaniais · 13/11/2023 09:12

They will be staying in Notting Hill. Coming from Switzerland so open to any cuisine. Baby is still bf so not an issue

I've only been once and yes I thought it was great.

You have to queue for a table (no booking ahead unless its for a large group) but shouldn't be a problem if you go early (ie before office workers turn up!)

Delauney is good too - and if you like the look of that, the other one that springs to mind is the Colbert on Sloane Square

Whataretheodds · 15/11/2023 14:25

You certainly used to be able to book dishooom for breakfast, and lunch in some locations

skippy67 · 23/11/2023 10:54

You can book dishoom.
