Hi we are heading to London next week for a few days. Looking at going to China Town with the children, 14 and 9. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I wouldn't go to an all you can eat to start with as I've never found a good one.

I've not been to China Town in a long time but I'd recommend going onto the hygiene standards website and checking any restaurant you're interested in. 4 and 5 star places on there tend to have the best food funnily enough :)

Hiya

depends on the weather, if it is ok you might enjoy doing the street eats, Kowloon bakery, snacks, bubble waffle icecream experience outdoor esp if you are with kids.

if you are after a proper meal, Dumpling Legend is great for soup dumplings and dim sum, they also do noodles stir fry etc

four season is great for roast duck and other authentic Chinese food.

if you want a quick eat and don’t mind rude waiters (all part of the fun) Wong Kee is great for a quick in and out meal. Good noodles and “something with rice”. I went there last week. Cheap and tasty.

fyi I am from Hong Kong. That’s where I take friends

I went to one called Hong Kong buffet a couple of years ago, it was fine for quick food but it is too strong to say I recommend it! Far better to order a set price menu which are usually generous in quantity

I second what a PP said about Four Seasons being a better option. I also like Joy King Lau (nice spacious restaurant too, good for families). In my experience the quality of the food at the buffets is far inferior to that in the sit down restaurants, and not always much cheaper!

Four Seasons was a good one yes! Can't believe I forgot that. I even took my Taiwanese friend there (and she approved). From memory there's more than one though so one could easily be superior to the others.

Fantastic, thank you. Ames0813 that bakery sounds amazing.

Joy king Lau was my favourite for 20 years. Unfortunately they were sold during covid and never the same

Did you go? Hope you had a good time. Report back!

Hi we had a lovely time thanks. However, it was so busy! We ended up at Gerrards Corner which was great. It was that warm we ended up sitting outside which in October was unexpected!
