I've just set up a direct debit today to pay ULEZ charges automatically so I don't forget, or in case my partner takes the car out and I'm not aware of it (I know, he should pay it himself, but he'll forget too). We can't afford a new car and don't often use the non-compliant car we already have, so will pay as we go for now.
So my question is, if I set up the DD today, will that cover any charge from driving the car in the ULEZ zone today? or should I pay for today separately assuming the DD won't cover it yet. How long does the DD take to come into force?
