Moving from London to Hertfordshire and panicking….

Keen to hear from anyone who has moved out of London on how they have found the transition… we are in the middle of a move to Hertfordshire from London for various reasons: more space, better schooling and to be nearer family. We have a 2 year old daughter.

On paper the move is 100% the right thing but I am terrified that after 15+ years in London I am really going to struggle to adapt and that I won’t find anyone like me! Our daughter also loves the nursery she is in at the moment and I feel like a terrible mother putting her through the upheaval of a move. Will she even know?

Can anyone share any happy stories of moving out of London and actually thinking it was the right thing for them?

I moved from London to Hertfordshire 6 years ago, and almost everyone I met here is in the same situation as us, and moved from London to provide a better lifestyle for their young kids.

Personally, I haven’t regretted at all so far, and my child loves it here as well. And if we ever want to go to London, then it’s really just a short train ride…

I moved from London to Hertfordshire a couple of years ago, haven’t regretted it for a minute. Whereabouts are you moving to? We might be able to give you some local tips.
