Things to do near Borough

Hi all,

Heading out for dinner today near Borough Market but wanted to make a day of it.

Dinner booked for 5pm, is anyone able to suggest something to do beforehand? Wouldn't mind travelling a bit, I've looked at the IWM and Tate Modern but would be open to something outside as it's due to be nice out.

Tate Modern would have been my suggestion. How about looking at the Christopher Wren churches in the city, the Sky garden on top of the walkie talkie, or tourist things like the tower of London or St Paul's cathedral?

You know what I would personally do on a nice day - get Lime bikes and cycle along the south bank to the Salt Quay pub in Rotherhithe, have a drink and then head back. (Or just stop at the first nice pub on the river you like the look of.)

Or in the other direction, cycle to the Garden Museum or St George's Wharf and back again.

There is nothing more wonderful than cycling along the south bank on a lovely day with nowhere in particular to be.

uber boat to Greenwich

Just walk! It's going to be a lovely day. Certainly go over the pedestrian bridge over the Thames (right outside Tate Modern) and get up close to St Paul's. On that side of the river you can turn right and it's just a short walk to The Tower Of London too. Even if you don't go in, it's great to see it from the outside.

If you come back over then you can easily walk down to the South Bank area, see the London Eye, Houses of Parliament - many of the major sites are close to the Thames.

Get the train to somewhere in West London on the river (Barnes / Kew / Putney) and walk to Borough if you want to be outside!

I love the bike idea and an Uber boat sounds good.

Planning on heading to the Tate and then walking down the Southbank :)
