Any hope buying

Will houses ever become cheaper? I live quite near London, I don’t want to move away from my family but houses are so expensive is there any hope?

No crystal balls, and it's been a long time since house prices really slumped (89-95 and more briefly 07-09)

It's difficult to predict - prices have seemed impossibly high for a while now, and seem to defy affordability of everything else.

And of course a lot of people stand to lot if they find themselves in negative equity and with higher interest rates
