Second dose of Moderna Vaccine in North London

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a second dose of Moderna 4 weeks after the first in North London?

DS has the chance to do a series of week long education courses in Germany between the end of August and January.

med mart in borehamwood is offering walk in clinics tomorrow, thurs, fri and sat with Moderna but unsure if thats first or second dose. you may be able to contact and ask

Some places will accept 4 weeks if there is a legitimate reason, which your DS has so I would ring around a few places and explain his situation.

Thank you.

He's currently with us in his family home in Scotland so also asking about options to get one here. Man on the NHS vaccination helpline said ask GP to put on his records that GP is happy for him to get an earlier second dose.
GP said nothing to do with him but ask at a drop in centre anyway.

I phoned the Borehamwood pharmacy and they said not before 7 weeks.

Typical NHS if you ask me. Fantastic free service but one dept doesn't know what the other is saying.

To make a political point, if anyone in London is interested, this demonstrates to me how wasteful it is to have two administration systems organising a UK service. Obviously 4 systems including Wales and NI.

The vaccination service cannot access GP records held in Scotland.

When my DD returned from Edinburgh Uni, she did a walk-in via the Grab-a-Jab initiative.

My DS lives in North London and got the Moderna vaccine. He had his first in Islington and second is booked for Borehamwood.

CraftyGin Thanks. What Will the gap be between your DS' vaccinations?

Yes, getting one in England and another in Scotland might be difficult to prove digitally as different systems. Angry

Just in case any English people are in Scotland looking for a second dose. DS got a second dose after 6 weeks on a vaccine bus in Glasgow.

He's young and wanted it to allow him to do a week long course in EU and he's had covid already so not concerned about getting maximum efficacy from the vaccine but the best interval for the mRNA vaccines seems to be about 8 weeks so something to bear in mind.
