Stalker advice

We don't live in London any more but DD does and it appears she has a stalker. He knew her vaguely as an undergrad in another city and apparently gave her abs a friend some low level bother. But has discovered where she lives, come calling (she was out), and today approached her in the street, blocked her physically and gave chase when she ran. She's a fast runner so got away.
She's reported it but my question is, how seriously will this be taken by the police, and how can she ensure it is taken seriously?
We're hundreds of miles away and she lives in Clapham.
Thank you

I have no advice for you but you she has definitely done the right thing by reporting it. I am not sure what the police will do but she must keep reporting future incidents.

I hope this IS taken seriously OP, also make sure to Log absolutely everything down too. Never hurts to keep a footprint record.

good luck 🌸

I've thought about contacting him via FB (he's easy to find tho not as a friend of DD). But I think that's probably my unwise. I should leave the professionals to warn him off I think

Do not contact him. Reporting to the police is the right thing to do.

Here is a good article I read a few weeks ago about a woman's experience of stalking and harrassment. It may give you a good idea about what to do and how to make sure the police take it seriously. X

Crikey @mewkins that's a scary read.
She has one of her flat mates meeting her at the station this evening

I think the police will take it seriously. He chased her! They may find cctv.

bigbeatmanifesto · 14/06/2021 16:39

Do not contact him the more members of her family that speak to him the more on the inside he may feel and he will get off on the fact he has direct contact with her and her family members keep any contact at an absolute minimum document when he gets in touch, she has done the right thing by reporting him. I hope he leaves her alone ASAP what a horrible experience for her.

Tell her to contact Paladin National Stalking Advocacy Service, they’re experts in advocating for victims of stalking to the police and criminal justice system. Their website is paladinservice.co.uk
