London but not London...

Hi

I was wondering if there is a lovely, more affordable place to live with easy access to Oxford Circus ( my work) to purchase a first property to raise a child but still being able to commute every day to central London??
Not too rural but more like a suburban village feel. Save and green but with a bearable commute time of 1 h our less.

Which side of London do you have family/friends? Or do you just prefer for any reason at all?

Say it'll take about 15 mins from any main train station to Oxford Circus, and ignoring frequency of trains, you'd be looking at no more than 30-40 mins on the train (unless you are also disregarding the time from train station to home)

Or do you mean 1 hour on just the main train journey?

And what is your budget? Renting or buying?
