Hi, my DP is 50 next month and l wanted to take him to a lovely restaurant in London. Along the lines of Sketch or Sexy Fish. It’s a Sat night so availability is already tight!
Any cool, trendy restaurants you’ve been to that you’d recommend?
We are going to stay at The Ham Yard or if that helps with type of restaurant ?

Bob Bob Ricard?

Pollen Street Social would be my choice. Hakkasan would be good too. Galvin La Chappelle in Spitalfields is great but a bit far from your hotel.

Thanks you fab mumsnetters! Like the idea of Bob Bob Richard - although been there before, not sure if DP has though x

What kind of food do you like? Hakkasan is always good. I went to Hide before lockdown and that was amazing (near Green Park). Isabel on Albermarle Street (although expensive and a bit up itself). I love Palomar (well located for Ham Yard) although quite small and v hard to get a Saturday table at the best of times.

Oh and Roka! The food is excellent if you like Japanese and a good vibe.

@jw13 excellent thanks

I thought Bob Bob City was terrible, I don't know about BBR. I went to Rules today and really enjoyed it having suspected it would be all style and no substance. It was really good but as far away from trendy or modern as you can get!!

Ham yard restaurant is great, otherwise Roka or Sushi Samba

J Sheekey.

I would say Coya or Roka if you want lovely food. Hakkasan is also tasty but I would go for the one in Hanway place. If you wanted something new to try Gordon Ramsey has just launched Lucky Cat, but can’t tell you what it’s like until next week!

I wouldn’t worry too much about restaurants being over busy here in London at the moment .
Whatever restaurant you choose they will be grateful for your business let me tell you as I live in London and it’s very quiet at the moment .

Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental. Perfect in every way!

Circolo or Gloria

The streets are quiet but the good restaurants are booked up. Trying getting afternoon tea at the ritz, claridges, sketch etc between now and Christmas, for instance.

We couldn't get the Langham for lunch yesterday, although I didn't try until earlier this week, but Rules was packed. Plenty of space for SD, temperature taken on arrival, plenty of hand sanitiser but very busy

Novikov or STK
