Nice London restaurant for DMIL’s birthday

Where would be a nice place to take septugenarian DMIL and DFIL for a weekend lunch (either Saturday or Sunday)?

Comfort and ambience are priorities along with nice (but not necessarily cutting edge) food. Lamberts in Balham and Chez Bruce are examples of what’s on the list but the latter is right at the top of our budget. Some form of Chinese or Japanese restaurant also an option. Pizza/pasta/curry are not an option (fussy eaters).

No vegetarians in the party but some fussy eaters, so anywhere with only one or two options is out.

What's your budget per head including tip?

Fiume at Battersea Power Sation - great river views.

London House, Battersea Square (Gordon Ramsay) - cheaper than Chez Bruce.

50 quid a head for food only incl tip (ie Chez Bruce’s 45 quid pre tip) is our max budget - less would be nice.

The chop house at butlers wharf is lovely. Great views over the river and is is large enough for a party.

I was sticking with the SW London theme!

SW London is our vicinity, and what I happen to know: but anywhere near a fairly central tube stop is also an option. Fiume looks nice, I’m keen to see how Battersea Power Station’s looking now. And Oslo Court is one of those places I’ve heard about so many times but never been to.

The Power Station and the environs are looking fantastic!

Loads of interesting places, including a cinema in the railway arches, micro brewery, Wright Bros, Meghan's, etc. No tube yet, due in a year or so.
