Question about ULEZ. and congestion charge zone

The congestion charge zone has a non-charge through-route through the middle.

Will you be exempt from the ULEZ if you are only using that non-charge route?

There isn't a through route? - there used to be when they had the western extension, but there isn't now isn't shrunk back again.

There is a through route, always has been (before during and after expansion), and it's essentially up Park Lane and the Edgeware Road. I use it on the odd time I'm visiting old stamping ground.

It's not terribly clear (well, not to me, I might be being thick) from the official pages online whether that route is also exempt from ULEZ as it's arguably not part of the congestion charge zone.

Isn't that just the edge of the zone? The zone starts on the eastern/inner edge of those roads. Same as you can drive down Vauxhall's bridge road for example, but not turn east/north off it. It's not a cut through as such.

I see what you mean though; the boundary roads are exempted from the CC, are they exempt from the ULEZ?

Looking at the map on TFL I'd say yes as the line is again drawn to the inner edge of those roads, as it is with the CC. According to the search on the site, Park Lane for example is exempt from both CC and ULEZ.

Thank you for pointing that out so kindly.

I was being spectacularly thick, as I hadn't noticed it was boundary not through route.

(Ex-Londoner, clearly thoroughly rusticated now)

:-). Did wonder if I was missing something! I know the zone does a couple of odd things - there are some dip-ins at the top for example to save you if you end up on one of the one way, no turn roads south from Regent's Park. You should be fine though.
