Decent swim/sauna/steam rooms in London?

Hi,

Posting for recommendations.

I want to find a decent after work spot for a light swim and steam/sauna in central London.

Somewhere I can pop into on the way home, not somewhere that requires me to book some sort of package in advance. I don't want treatments, just access to the facilities.

K West spa is the best I've found, but it is a little out my way and entry to facilities is expensive.

Really struggling to find somewhere. The options seem to be cheaper (often dingy looking) fitness centres or extremely fancy hotel spas. I'd also like to avoid sports centres/pools where there are kids running around.

I just want a reliable and relaxing place, pay as you go, where I can turn up and chill for a couple of hours before going home.

Any ideas or good experiences to report, Londoners?

Try Marshall street. It’s usually clean, not many kids, big gay men constituency ( it’s in soho just off carnaby street). As an extra bonus they use infra red, not chlorine to disinfect the water so it’s kinder on your skin.
It’s got a spa, sure if you could use the sauna as part of your membership. Definitely worth checking out.

Covent garden has an open air swimming pool that you can pay to go to

There are some amazing Turkish baths that may be worth a try. The Porchester is nice.

The York hall in Bethnal Green is nice. They have other branches, I think the chain is called spa London.

When I went to the porchester it was filthy and there were lots of women shaving in the steam room. I did have a very good massage there though.

Porchester spa is very marmite, check out the TripAdvisor reviews. I love it and go regularly but hygiene is something people complain about a lot. The massages are indeed very good.

Ironmonger row is lovely and not too expensive considering the standard of facilities. It's Shoreditch-y sort of way
