Hi mums,

I live in South London at the moment and am considering a move to Surrey.

I'm looking for a (preferably detached) 4 bed property up to £850k

Ideally want somewhere within a half mile to fast train to London, Wimbledon or a main station.

Would love to get a cafe/restaurant culture on my doorstep and some decent little shops.

Is there anywhere that matches my needs?! Or do I need a bigger budget?

Which London mainline? Waterloo? Look at Elmbridge (Claygate, Esher, Hinckley Wood, Thames Ditton, East Molesey, Walton on Thames etc).

London Bridge try Epsom, Dorking, Redhill.

Sutton or carshalton beautiful houses around here, Sutton train station has the fast train to London Victoria I believe it's 22 minutes, a bus into Wimbledon takes around 15-25 minutes. Lots of little coffee shops and a town centre but very quiet. Crime rate is low too. Amazing schools

Titchy -I'll check those out, thanks. Do you know if any of them have a really nice community, countryside feel with boutique shops/cafe culture? If not I'll do some visits.

Unfortunately, Sutton is too 'London-like' for me. I want to feel like it's countryside with the cafe culture and transport of London! (Unrealistic perhaps!) I actually quite like Carlshalton, how we I think it's still not spacious enough. I don't want to look out my window and see rows and rows of houses and shops! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Richmond and Kew have the culture you want but you'd only get a terraced or semi for that money but lovely houses. What about moving towards Kent, somewhere like sevenoaks.
