I'm asking for feedback from any of you who work in a GP practice or A&E please.
I'm a diabetic for 38 years. In November I had a swollen, hot and painful foot. I thought I had turned it but it stayed swollen so I went to the GP. She decided I had Cellulitis and prescribed antibiotics. To cut a long story short I have been in plaster for 6 months already and face possible amputation.
My question is, when faced with a diabetic red, swollen foot, what would your protocol be? Were you trained to X-ray to check for Charcot foot?
Sorry it's a grim not fun topic but I have lost my income and can't get out of the house on my own,so I am pursuing a claim.
TIA
Bel.
