I have a relative who lives in the Middle East. She's 8, fairly bright, but the schools locally are not very good - they are also sporadically closed due to problems, which have frequently disrupted her education. While her native language is Arabic she's getting better at English, and I think might be able to handle English-medium teaching.
I was wondering whether there's a way to hook her up with an online school or online lessons she could do on top of her regular school. Tutoring might be an option too, although she isn't aiming for anything specific (like entrance exams or similar). Interested in core subjects like Maths, English, languages.
If I throw random words into Google I find full online schools (with fancy marketing and full private school fees) but not sure where to go when looking for something less than that kind of commitment. There is tutoring, but that's specifically one to one. And there are lots of resources for home schooling, but she doesn't have anyone to be her homeschool teacher.
I don't really know where to begin here. Any suggestions for where to look for the occasional lesson she could dip into and see how she gets on - either pure videos she could watch or an online class she could join?
