Did your child get the primary school placement you wanted?

We got our first choice of primary school, but my daughter is born late July and I'm so worried she isn't ready.
She was doing ok before the lockdown but I didn't take her back in until 8th of March, now I'm worried she is behind.
Do you guys do any educational things at home with your little ones?

I got my choice of primary school (I'm so glad as I don't drive). My son is an almost end of July baby too so especially after all the time missed from nursery I had been concerned he wouldn't be ready for September. I brought this up with a health visitor / school nurse and she put my mind at ease (I'm sure a lot of parents are feeling like us too). I've always tried to interact with my son with a lot of educational things, especially since he turned 3 and has been in nursery. I'm just going to continue doing that alongside everything he also does at nursery. He seems to be following his peers absolutely fine and a lot of those have already turned 4 too, some as earlier as October 2020.

Thank you Hannah that is reassuring especially since you spoke to a health visitor about it. So glad you got your first choice too. My daughter is quite shy so it really worries me if she will be able to cope. Wondering if I should defer by a year until I feel a bit more confident in her learning ability.

yes, got first choice. Live in small village but a lot of new housing developments have popped up and was worried we might miss out.

I saw Head in town and she said the new estates have no children applying for the school. We're an hour either way from other schools so wonder where they're going? Private schools maybe? Nearest is 45 mins away. Perhaps there?
