You and your child can help us find out how children learn new words from touchscreen apps.
TAKE PART IN OUR ONLINE LANGUAGE APP STUDY!
• We are looking for parents of children aged 24-48 months living in the UK
• Children should be monolingual speakers of English
• To take part, you need to have an Android tablet at home
Our study takes approximately 20-30 minutes via video chat. Prior to the video chat, we will ask you to download an app that we have developed onto your tablet and fill in an online questionnaire about how much time your child spends being read to, watching TV and playing digital games. You will also be asked to fill in a questionnaire about your child’s language development if your child is 24-35 months.
During the video chat, your child will play on the app while we video record their interaction with the app. After playing on the app, older children (36-48 months) will also be invited to take part in a fun language game.
We will schedule the session on a day and time most convenient for you.
