Hi All,
What resources are there available for students to learn at the moment other than what their school sets etc? I see that BBC2 is doing some tv here what other things could we be using to make 'home schooling' fun and break up the day?

We are in Scotland, there are plenty of books for each stage of secondary with practice questions in. What subjects they are interested in/they want to work on.

Youtube has lots of subject/topic based videos you could watch /learn together.

If they are early in secondary encouraging reading, especially opinon pieces in quality newspapers and discussing will benefit them later.

Sorry, my heading was probably not explanatory enough. I am looking for some more 'fun' activities that can also be educational

I’d be encouraging reading a decent newspaper every day (The Guardian is free online). If doing subjects like history, geography your library may have free access to magazines like national geographic and bbc history magazine. Reading widely around the topics being studied will never be a bad thing.

Oak Academy is very good. There are thousands of video lessons which you can search by key stage and subject.

Tell us some more about your dc, op, and then we might be able to recommend something more specific. The idea of ‘fun’ is very subjective. My version of fun learning would very likely not impress my teenage dcGrin

Seneca learning is also good
