Free laptops for home schooling?

Someone I know has a friend who has had to leave her home due to a violent spouse. As I understand it she has left with very little, is safe, but doesn't have a laptop or anything to help her two children with homeschooling.

I have had a look online but not found much, and nothing local to her.

Are there any schemes / initiatives that might help?

She may be able to borrow one from the school.

Contact the school ours have loaned me a school ipad for the duration. They also gave me a free brand new ipad to keep funded by the local community as I asked if it'd be possible to borrow two. I was a bit surprised I thought they were recycling peoples old ones but DC are like

I would advise her to go back to the school and ask again. If they cannot help she should ask them if there are local schemes in place. It's school who would have the details of any local initiatives.
