Recommendations for reading book collections

Have finally managed to get my DS into reading during lockdown - this is wholly due to the fact my Mum bought him the Project X Alien Adventures books series and he's got really into the story!

I'm looking for recommendations for something similar - a collection of books that have a storyline running through them. Bonus points for anything to do with space, aliens, dinosaurs, sci-fi!!

He's on the last few books and they are Oxford level 12 and seems about the right level of difficulty for him.

Thank you!!

We have boys aged 9&11, I am not sure how the following compare to Oxford Level 12, but they like:
Percy Jackson series
Alex Rider series

They all like Wimpy Kid, just for fun not really stretching but perhaps light relief.

The, My brother is a superhero, series has humour and adventure

You can try Divergent, The Hunger Games and Percy Jackson, they are really interesting and adventurous. You can also try some superhero books, most boys like it. Maybe Marvel's stories would be interesting. Try and you'll find out what he likes.
