Key worker children attending school

Does anyone else have children still attending school 5 days per week? If so, are your children expected to complete home learning packs outside of the time they are attending school?
I'm a lone parent and key worker, I have children in Y4 & Y5. Both children are attending school every day to allow me to work, but are being criticised for not completing home learning tasks. I feel that after 7hrs a day in an educational setting, it's too much to expect them to come home and work. Thoughts please?

No this doesn’t sound right.

My kids are both doing their remote learning while they are in school. Not taught as such but supervised to do it same as the other kids.

Both myself and DH are key worker son going to school, but doing no work while at school which I find slightly frustrating but sort of understand. DS is Y1 so not a major issue we now come home watch bbc bitesize program which is 20 minutes then do 3 pages of 3 work books I've bought on line. I'm in a fb group of others in his year and as parents are at home they are doing loads I do worry he will be behind when he goes back.

Who is criticising them and what are they saying? Is it crossed wires where the person ‘criticising’ hasn’t realised they are in school every day?

I’d just send an email saying that they are obviously at school during the school day to enable you to work, so can’t really do the work outside of that time. Ask if they can sit and complete it whilst they are at school?

We give the KW children opportunities to do the set work in school.

2 DC in school 5 days a week.

School teachers help/supervise home learning before lunch and then the afternoon is free play. One DC is reception aged so couldn’t do it on her own realistically.

Another parent without DC at school complained they were “teaching” the children and it wasn’t fair on other DC. Headteacher emailed everyone to say don’t be so bloody petty!

The criticism is directed at the children while they are in school, by the teachers. I've also received direct communication from one of the teachers, who sent this weeks home learning tasks, and when I questioned she stated she was aware the children were full time at school, but yo complete as much of the pack at home as possible.
There are 2 teachers per day at school, and averaging 8 children, although ages vary from Yr to Y6.
I think I'll email the head for clarification.

Not KW but my DS has an EHCP and is in twice a week.
As it's a small specialist school with many vulnerable children, they are giving out home learning packs (printed). On the days he's in school he does two tasks from each area and we do the others at home. They have deliberately set low demand tasks to avoid children becoming frustrated (either because of their behaviour needs or because they aren't getting as much support as they can at home).

I am a teacher, the key worker children that come into our school complete their home learning for the day at school. Why isn't this happening? You cannot expect your young children to be doing all their work at 5pm; that really is not fair.

This does sound very odd. If the expectation is that they complete home working tasks, the school should be facilitating this in school in the same way that a parent would. That's what my school is doing, although we are secondary.

Could it be that they are given the chance to do home learning at school, but choosing not to?
