Lockdown learning
Has anyone been using Bitesize daily or Oak Academy?

My Y3 DD has been watching the BS Daily every day and seems to enioy them. I must admit the first one I watched just confused me and the topics covered don't seem to link to the daily lessons. The constant silly jokes get on my wick too! But we've both enjoyed the Book club section.
We're planning to do the English lessons from this week next week as had to wait for someone to print the worksheets. We won't necessarily do them each week - depends on the subject. We will only dip into the Maths if it links to where she is in her school workbook. Will look at other things if they take our interest. Similarly we will dip in and out of the Oak lessons - it was only the music lesson that appealed this week - it was great and we both really enjoyed it.

I've been really impressed with both these. My yr 6 child is doing yr 7 oak maths, english, science art and french as they were the ones that interested her and school would have been sats revision. It feels a great foundation for secondary.
My yr 3 child is watching bitesize, but that's a bit hit and miss. She's quite bright. We've looked at the oak academy science about plants for yr 3 and was so impressed! Independent and dependent variables and we made the model and I was quite impressed at the depth it went into. The maths doesn't tie in but we're doing a mymaths a day from the school log in.
The english titles looked boring but the cintent looked good so we will add an english oak lesson daily next week too!

I have a DS in year 3 too and we've been doing Oak Academy, I find it very good particularly the English lessons, for Maths, we've been doing the Yr 4 lessons. Bitesize is not so good in my opinion.

My DC have been using Oak Academy - Yr4 child loves it, Yr3 child hates it. Slowly we progress!

I really enjoyed the first English lesson DD did. During the second she shouted BORING, BORING, BORING and climbed back into bed. But I think that says more about DD than the lesson, which I thought was good.
