Garden bird-spotting activity
GerundTheBehemoth · 23/03/2020 13:21
I wanted to do something helpful with my time and my many, many bird photos, so I've made these garden bird spotter sheets, as an activity for families with young wildlife enthusiasts. Please feel free to download and print out if you like them. There are just 18 kinds of birds so far but I'll add more sheets later on.

Thats really nice, thanks for sharing. Now is a great time of year to get into it, the foliage isn’t yet dense. And if you enchant kids from an early age, and put some suitable food out consistently, you can spend many a morning hour watching the birds. Sometimes we put peanuts out for the beautiful jays. And sunflower seeds in shell are a constant hit.

Thank you :) I shall include jay on the next sheet!

Ooh, that's a lovely thing you've done there. We get goldfinches, robins, starlings, a pair of collared doves, great tits, crows, wrens and a chaffinch in our garden.
DD and I will play birdie bingo with your sheets!

Thanks fir sharing. We’ve moved to a new area & have 4 pairs of what I think are house sparrows. We’ve called the boys James & the girls Betty... the kids picked lol
We love watching them & listening to them.

Yes - two lovely male House Sparrows :D Thank you for showing me!
Just finished three more sheets - I'll upload them in a sec.
GerundTheBehemoth · 23/03/2020 17:18
Here are the next three - please feel free to use and share as before. Three of the birds on one of these sheets (swallow, house martin and swift) are summer migrants and haven't arrived yet this year - something to look forward to!

I've now done a couple of sheets for springtime garden butterflies - plenty of them emerging this week in the sunny weather :)

Thank you so much. My DS will love these. It’s really kind of you.
I spotted a peacock butterfly in my garden today. So beautiful. The starlings nesting on our house are chattering away.
