Ideas thread - entertaining children in lockdown

Okay so I know we are not in lockdown but the idea doesnt seem so ridiculous any more.

Do you have any plans for keeping your children occupied if it happened?

I have a 7mo so not too difficult to entertain but the thought of not being able to go to baby groups or see other adults brings me out in a cold sweat!

Living room Olympics.
Working our way through all the colouring books we've not finished.
Making up dances/plays would be what we did all day if my DD had her way!
I am thinking about buying one two kids mags ( the kind that are a big treat in our house) and hiding them away until needed.

Also, of course, TV.

Can I ask what living room Olympics are?

Oooh good idea about the mags! Obviously wont work for DD but a surprise book for DP would go down well...

Further to this today I ordered a 2000 piece jigsaw. Whether it arrives is another matter Confused

Chalk drawings on patio areas.

DD suggested starting a family choir.

Oh, wait do you just have a 7mo? Then the important thing is to keep you entertained, surely?!

Skype your friends, watch some box sets, go on Mumsnet.

Hi everyone! despite all that has been going on this year, we have decided to start a business. We are currently offering our Halloween pre-packed Creative Workshops, complete with all materials and a guided video tutorial. These pre-made workshop kits are ideal for children (and adults who want to participate! wink) who would like to try some basic craft skills. We have only just got things started, but please check out our website below, many thanks in advance flowers, and hopefully, you will join us on our creative quest!

The Space Centre are offering some free all-age live streams all about space during the lockdown period. They might be good for some home learning during the next few weeks.

it's truly a hard time for us all, I engage my kid in Grow our own vegs

It is really hard to find a long term solution that engages the kids. Puzzles are great and there is a great game called Rummikub that has been a saviour play it everyday! Also other games such as Uno could be a great way to keep kids occupied!
