We only have one DC but have to pay on advance for his sport activities. I'm sure there are a lot of people with the same situation. What happens if they can't attend? would the payments for the activities be lost ?

I think it would depend on why they can’t attend. So if it’s because they’re sick the money would likely be lost, if it’s because they’ve had to close you’d probably get a refund/have other sessions covered. Do you have a contract you can check? It should say in there. I know the nursery my dc attended would refund from day 3 of an enforced closure, the tennis club they go refund from first cancelled session.
