My mum and I are going to a ballet matinee and my dad needs somewhere to take my toddler (DS, 2.5)

Dad is not the most energetic or fit people so I don't want to suggest anything like the canals or Victoria square with the dangers of water and lots of steps

I guess I'd prefer something indoors but I need to bear in mind my dad is quite 'frugal' so expensive places like Sea Life/Think Tank are probably out

Dad went to the museum (bless him) to see if they had any dinosaurs or anything but alas not

Any other ideas? ir am I asking the impossible!? I just want to relax at the ballet knowing they've gone somewhere safe really

I'm from Solihull by the way and we'll be coming in on the train

The indoor markets at the bottom of the bull ring are fascinating for a walk around. My niece and nephew are always fascinated by the whole sheep's heads, cow's tongues and never before seen fish.

The only thing I would say is that they're always very busy so reins or a good tight hold on the hand would be needed......

How about central library? It's just by Victoria Square and has a great children's library in there.

Keep my DD (aged 2.4) entertained on a rainy day.

Brilliant ideas, thanks so much both. I think we'll take the pushchair so the markets will be do-able and the library sounds like a winner!
