hi, i will be moving to kirkby due to DHs work in about 3 weeks (just in time for xmas, lol). i have a DD who is 2 and a DS who is 4. i dont know a soul so would love to get in touch with people. i would also love some advice on schools in the area as i have to apply for DS place for next year by end of november.

so is anyone in or near kirkby who would fancy a chat or brew?

Can't help very much, but wanted to let you know that we moved to Liverpool in June due to DH's work, having never been before we came for the interview, and we really love it here. There's a great vibe about the city, and the people are exceptionally friendly.

I have been to Kirkby (I think ), but I know nothing about schools there. Hope someone who does drops by soon.

And I know that there are Liverpool MNers around, because I saw there was a meet-up not that long ago. Might be worth bumping the thread tomorrow.

I'm in Liverpool- Waterloo though. Drop me a line on bitoffun 1 @ yahoo.co.uk and I will put you onto a lovely MNer I know in your neck of the woods with a toddler

hmm have been a bit dozy and not been online recently - try for Liverpool or Sefton schools if poss - Holy Rosary RC is brilliant, as are Davenhill, Melling Primary or practically any in Maghull. Nurseries wise, Gingerbread Cottage in Fazakerley is lovely. Hope you're settling in ok,

How are you getting on? Only just seen this post.
Have you checked out what is going on at your local Children's Centres? There is bound to be one by you, and if you're a bit more mobile try the other locations around Kirkby.
You can see the activity timetable on either north or south kirkby's childrens centres web sites.
Did you have any sucess with choosing a school yet?
