Your thoughts on Chariot Mtn bike trailer/Mtn biking with infant

DH (avid Mtn biker) has got his heart set on going out on fireroads with me (not so avid, but not opposed due to the excercise/ being with hubby factor) and baby (due in April) ASAP. We've been looking at Chariot trailers and the baby sling and thinking that with them we'd be able to go out by 2 months (if I'm up to it), now we're getting conflicting information about whether it is safe...
Want to know these things:
Has anyone taken a baby out in them?
Did they feel it safe?
Any other suggestions...

I dont have any experience and I personally would not do anything like that.If you DH is very keen why dont you discuss it with the midwife you are seeing and also with one of the health visitors in the Pontprennau medical centre.The other option is to go a good local cycle store ( cant remember the name there is one off the newport road- got our bike carrier from them and most of the professional bikers come there apparently) and ask their adv.
