It's finally come to that dreaded time - I've got to actually apply for a place for DS1 (been panicking about it since he started Primary School )

ATM (before we go to any open evenings) we're tentatively going to apply in the following order...

Elmgreen
Dunraven
BTG (not going to lie about church attendance, so unlikely although he's at a feeder school atm)
Norwood (but that's just as a safety net)

Any thoughts/comments on the schools? The few friends I have with older children don't live around here so, with the exception of BTG, I have no personal experience of any of them. Any truly wonderful school within reach of Streatham that I should be looking at? Anyone else in the same boat want to panic with me?

TIA

^^ doesn't mean that the actual education isn't good though...

I was just thinking about you - haven't noticed you on MN for a bit (but weren't you very pregnant back in November?)

We got in (\o/) DS1 is very happy, although he's probably the only one from his school going there. How about you?

LOL, completely misread a couple of your posts!

Is your DD at an independent school atm? (SHCHS by any chance? Or whatever it's called now...)

Oooh, Serenity, I'm so pleased your ds got into D...I was talking to a Yr 6 mother this a.m and she was saying how marvellous it was that someone who lives about 400m from the school had got in 'because the competition is so great, and they live all the way down very-nearby-road', and I thought about you and crossed my fingers!

Thank you I was pretty sure we'd be OK as I was fairly convinced DS1 would get in the top group after the exam, and I knew that that group (like the bottom group) had a fairly large catchment, compared to the others. It's taken a big load off my mind, Elmgreen would have been fab too, but i would have worried more about him getting there. Dunraven is close enough that he can walk there now without me stressing

I live the other side of the school from you, otherwise I'd twitch curtains and keep an eye on him!
