Anyone just found out they are pregnant in the Streatham / Balham area? Fancy sharing the journey?

Found out I was pregnant on Monday.

Have been loitering around the ante natal and pregnancy threads on main mumsnet site, but it seems like everybody already knows each other and the threads are huge already.

Anyone live in Streatham / Balham and just found out they are pregnant? This is my first time and none of my friends are anywhere near having a baby yet, so wouldn't mind the company if anyone's going through the same thing as me, closeby...

I'm in Streatham with my first pregnancy, but 32 weeks already. I just dived in my month's antenatal thread and it's been really useful (and then I dived in various other threads, because I'm stuck at home and like online chat anyway).

I recommend the local NCT antenatal classes - the teacher is very sensible rather than hippyish, and there seems to be a shortage of NHS ones (although if you can get the NHS ones by phoning St Georges, they're the same classes for far less money!)

Do put a 'Streatham / Balham' thread on the main board too - it's busier than Local...Put it under 'meet-ups' or 'other subjects' - the same thread andf post as you have here.

And don't be nervous of people knowing each other on the ante-natal threads! They'll know you very soon!

Never said thank you for your post notcitrus! Just looking through posts on this part of the site about nurseries and spotted this.
