Best-regarded primary and secondary schools in Gerrards Cross area?

Hi mums! We are planning to move with our two sons (age 2 and 5) to Gerrards Cross. Please can you let me know which schools are locally considered to be the best primary / secondary schools?

I know that we'll need to see what's available on the Buckinghamshire Council's website, but regardless of availability I'm keen to understand where has the best reputation locally. Interested in state/grammar/private.

GX has more private schools than state.
Bucks is also a grammar council.
Can't help with reputations, my knowledge is 50 years old.
Have just seen an ad saying St Mary's right in the centre is going co-ed though (having been all girls)

Bucks is a grammar county so the secondary picture’s a bit different to a straight comprehensive area - worth figuring out early whether you’re aiming for grammar (and what the fallback comps look like from the address you buy) before you pick a primary catchment just on reputation.

For primary, local chat helps but I’d also check last year’s offer distances in the Bucks admissions info and go and see a couple - quiet kids and lively ones need different vibes even when both schools are “well regarded”. With a 2yo and a 5yo you’re basically juggling nursery/reception and the longer secondary game at the same time, so the day-to-day school run between them matters as much as Ofsted headlines.

If you’re looking at state options around GX / Chalfonts / Beaconsfield way, shortlist a few that are actually doable for drop-off and compare them on the same published stuff before any one open day wins you over.
