mums baby/toddler groups, playgroups, activities etc. in Brixton, Clapham, Herne Hill area?

Hi,

Does anyone know of any activities, playgroups etc. that would interest my nearly 3 year old son and my hopefully soon to be born baby.... My son currently goes to nursery a couple of days a week, but I would like to take him to other activities too... I just don't know whats available!

I know of the one o'clock clubs, and would really like to meet some other mums too...

Here's two Mum and Toddler Grps in Clapham- one on Wed at St. John's Church, Clapham High St., nr Clapham North Tube, 10 am till 12 noon. About £2.50. Also Thursday 9:45 til 11:45 at St. Paul's Church, Rectory Grove SW4, £2.50
St. Johns shuts for Aug. St. Paul's shuts mid July til Sept-ish.
Salsa dancing for Tots on Fridays Garfield Rd Community Centre, Clapham 11am. Call 07846994063.
Story times at most libraries.
Soft play centre Brixton Leisure centre.
Tin Pan Annie, Monkey Music, Caterpillar Music are all music classes for Tots, various locations-google them.
Stay and Play and crafts and music at the Children's Centre on St. Rules St.just off Wandsworth Rd on Mon, Tue and wed am. It's free.
I think they do pottery classes at Clapham Leisure Centre for toddlers.
I think "Mango Landin" in Brixton does toddler music classes

there's also the playgroup at the contact centre on abbeville road, in term times - you have to book a place for a term and it's on tuesdays and/or fridays

monkey music gets really booked up so look on the website soon for the autumn term

Just an update to say St. John's playgroup on Clapham Road nr Clapham North is staying open all summer so I've been told. It's wednesdays 10 till 12.

In the Herne Hill area there's the One O'Clock club in Brockwell park (open most days, but not wednesday), another one up at the Brixton Windmill off brixton hill, various toddler groups in churches, mostly shut over the summer. Whippersnappers at the Lido in the park do various music and movement sessions. The music thing at Mango Landin is on Tuesdays, 10.30 I think - called Ruby Rhymes. Have a look on the listings for Lambeth.

The library sessions for younger kids are finished for the summer hols, they are doing activities for older kids for now.

I'm normally at one of these places with my almost-2 ds. See you around!
