Can anyone recommend a place that does reasonably priced children's haircuts? I've been shocked at how much the hairdressers charge - my girls hair takes about 5 mins to cut! Thanks

I have been to shine on church street - £12 - which does seem a lot - will be interested in anyone has found cheaper.

I've been taking mine to Frere Jacque - the sweet little clothes shop on Church Street, they have a hairdresser come in on Sat. They did charge £7 which was fine but have recently put it up to £10. I did feel slightly robbed last time, paying £20 for two haircuts that took less than 5 mins each! Perhaps this is the going rate and I'm being unreasonably tight .

No I don't think you are being tight - did think about Frere Jacque but never got round to going there. There's another place on upper street but I think they charge the same

Eek - I am afraid dd gets hers done by me (rather well, if I do say so myself )

Good for you umlellala - I can never get dd to sit still - but I managed to cut her fringe the other day

there's a new place, three potato four - on Newington Green. very friendly. charges me £8 or so for DS. maybe a bit more for girls (in the usual sexist hairdresser manner of fleecing women) but very child friendly - videos to keep wrigglers happy, toys etc. did a nice job, even with very wriggly DS2 aged 1.

Igloo is more expensive I think.

if you want cheaper, i've been to KDS on Blackstock Road, about a £5 or so.
