Parking for Sheffield Arena

Hi. Just wondering if anyone can help. I am going to Sheffield Arena on 7 September to see Lewis Capaldi and cant get booked into the arena parking as it is full. I did book parking at one of the Premier Inns via a parking site but this has just been cancelled.

I was wondering about coming early and going to the Valley Centertainment site for lunch and a mooch round and walk to and from the arena from there.

Or would I be better getting a tram and parking out of the centre? I dont know Sheffield other than driving to/from the arena or hospitals so have no idea about the tram stops. I would be coming from the Chesterfield side.

My other option is drive to Chesterfield and then train from there to Sheffield and then tram or taxi to the arena although I have no idea what the transport is like from the station to the arena (or until I have looked, what time the last train on a Sunday night is to Chesterfield).

Hoping someone with more knowledge of Sheffield comes along.

Last time we went we parked on Milford Street, There is on-street parking if you’re prepared to drive round the business park/industrial estate areas on the other side of the A6178 and you’ll see lots of other people doing the same. I seem to think there are parking restrictions at Centertainment so you might not be able to park there for long enough.

Thanks I'll try that.

I noticed from their website that I can park for free at Meadowhall and get the tram but that takes me right over the other side of Sheffield so its not my first choice.

@Frenzi

Have you tried Just Park?. I use them frequently when in a different city.

Meadowhall isn’t far at all from the arena. I’d do that.

You can easily park at Meadowhall and walk - it’s not very far at all.

Meadowhall is only a mile from the arena. But make sure you park in the Oasis car park as that is the 24 hour one. I think the others close 11ish

Meadowhall is three tram stops from the arena. The tram also gos from the station but would check the train times back to Sheffield

Either Meadowhall or the industrial estate roads as someone mentioned before. Meadowhall might be better tho and v close.

Yes. I’d actually booked parking through them and yesterday I got an email telling me it had been cancelled.

Thanks everyone. I’ll go with Meadowhall. The arena website tells you to only park in two particular zones there so I’ll make sure I’m on one of them. We will probably go earlier so can make sue we get a parking space and go have food and a wander around the shops first.

Meadowhall then the tram is dead easy, far less chaotic than closer to the arena, and free, enjoy 😀

Comefromaway · 01/08/2025 14:00

They have signs up at Centertainment saying No Arena Parking so I imagine there are time restrictions etc.

The last tram leaves at 11.53 to the city centre & at 11.35pm to Meadowhall.

We parked in Meadowhall when we went to see Peter Kay at Sheff arena. Make sure free parking is available there though as they only allow it for certain events. It’s a fair walk 20-30mins crossing busy roads but there is also a tram.
