St Faiths / The Leys most popular areas to live

We currently live quite far from other parents in our current school, and are moving to Cambridge next year. Our ds /dd starting above schools in Jan 2026.

Where do most families stay? What are the popular areas, having some (same) school kids around would be nice for weekends / after school etc.

Any suggestions? We are starting house hunting Sept /Oct time.

a lot of kids go by car to St Faiths and come from villages outside Cambridge as well as in Cambridge itself. Eg Barton, Haslingfield, etc.
the Leys is partly boarding and day boarding - the day boarders finish at about 8-9 pm so not much socialising after school. Day students I don’t know.

we drove our children to meet-ups.

they cycled to school and back and often stopped for ice cream etc with friends who were also cycling (Newnham/Grantchester area).
