Anyone living in Walton on Thames - can you recommend great GP?

My parents are hoping to move to Walton next month (fingers crossed nothing goes wrong with their house purchase).

Can anyone recommend a really good GP/surgery? My parents ideally want a health centre that offers a full range of services - nurse, blood test taking facility, choice of good doctors, etc etc

Can anyone living in Walton suggest/recommend anywhere?

If there is anything else useful you can pass on about living in Walton, please do so that I can let my parents know.

I live in North Kingston so am not much use.

Hope you look back and get this. We go to Walton Health Centre in Rodney Road. There are 4 different practices (named by colours) all under one roof plus Health Visitors, District Nurses, Blood testing etc

Lots of different doctos in each practise, we currently are in Red Practice and see Dr Tilly, Dr Hussain and Dr Sillick, all of them brilliant. It's also opposite Walton Community Hospital.

Walton is quite diverse, good shopping centre, close to local amenities and brand new library. Feel free to ask me anything else.

thank you SO much for replying! All being well, my parents exchange contracts tomorrow and then should move into their Walton house on 2nd July!

They place they are buying is just off terrace Road, near the shops near Cottimore Lane, so that doctors surgery looks perfect.

My mum is diabetic so finding a surgery with lovely doctors nurses is very important to them.

Anything else that I can pass on to them? Don't suppose your other half or anyone you know plays golf - dad does and is interested in Hersham Village Golf club or Sunbury Golf course?

Where is the library? I met mum in the new shopping centre for coffee the other day and it seemed lovely.

Are there any nice pubs/restaurants in Walton?

Ok, we live very near there too! I think the doctors is great, as with any doctors making appts is sometimes tricky. You have to ring at 8.40 in the morning for am appts and then 2pm for afternoon appts but you can also book appts that are non urgent a few weeks in advance.

My dh does play golf (not very well!) but only really does it thru work. He's played at Silvermere in Cobham a couple of times but not at those you mentioned.

The library is in the new town centre bit, the funny pointy shaped building opposite Hobbs/Coast, it's on the second floor and only opened last month. I think they are putting a gym in there as well - not in the library, I mean the same building!!

Pubs - Anglers and Swan down by the river, The Weir a bit further along the river. First 2 within walking distance for your parents. There's also the Minnow on river towards Weybridge and The Oatlands Chaser on Oatlands Avenue towards Weybridge.

Restaurants, quite a few now Carluccios, Giraffe, Nandos, Gourmet Burger Kitchen all in new shopping bit round the side opposite Homebase.

Also Bula and Si down Bridge Road (side of Woolworths).

Now I'm writing all this down it sounds great! We may move out of the area within next 12 months as unfortunately the schools are not good and we've got a little one so need to start thinking about her but we wont move far as I've got loads of NCT friends here!

Oh no disaster, that's really horrid especially in current housing climate. I really hope they get a new buyer soon and sort something out.
