Moving to Cambridge - Opinions on Orchard Park.

Hi all,
We’re planning a move to Cambridge and have found a house we really like in Orchard Park, specifically on Chieftain Way. However, I’ve read mixed reviews about the area, particularly regarding safety, and I’m feeling a bit unsure.
The area seems quiet, and the house is lovely, but I’ve heard some concerns about crime and the general safety of Orchard Park. I have a toddler, so feeling safe and secure is a top priority for us. Also, the garden of the house faces the busway – is that something I should be concerned about?
Are there any mums here who live in or near Orchard Park who can share their experiences? What’s the community like? Are there families with young children? Any insights would really help as we need to make a decision quite quickly!
Thanks in advance for your help!

I've friends who live in orchard park. Yes it's not known to be the best area, but that's within the Cambridge bubble. It's a typical new build estate. It's a good location for busway, train station, science park, A14 and the city centre. You might be in catchment for impington village college which is excellent (just won an award). There will be lots of families around and lots of activities for young children. Primary Schools are good- kings hedges primary, arbury etc.

I wouldn't be worried about the busway. The guided buses are quiet enough, so not like a train line.
