Hi! I am looking to make some new friends in the area. Unfortunately I dont drive so it makes getting to places very difficult. I have one son who is 20 months and we are currently trying for our second baby, I am so excited!! I have lived in Coggeshall 4 years, Southend before that and America before that so I dont really have friends here that I grew up with or anything. Would love to meet some new Mums. Please post here if you would like to do something! We have a great park here in Coggeshall or I could take a bus somewhere though our public transport isnt great.

Hi Eeny! I like coggeshall - or coggywoggy as its known in our house. Always on the lookout for new parks to take ds (14m) so we could pop up one day if you fancy.

Just had a peek at your profile (sorry im nosey) and you like the smiths! Yippeeeee me too! I dont listen to them much these days as im trying to stay happy, but in my student days i looooved them so much! How soon is now has got to be the most depressing song known to man. But i love it.

Exciting times in the eeny household then - i'd like more children but am still getting over having ds. I feel like we are just getting to a lovely enjoyable phase, so i dont want to go back to those sleepless stressed out days just yet.

Hi Eenybeeny, would be great to meet up sometime, I have DS who is 19 months and we live in Kelvedon, but I don't drive either! Do you know whether the community bus runs between Coggeshall and Kelvedon during the day? I know it does the commuter runs, but I don't think there are any other buses. It is a little easier for us as we can walk to the train station and can easily get to Chelmsford or Colchester. Hope to meet up sometime soon! Saz

eenybeeny · 23/04/2008 14:07

Hi Saz and Pooter!! Thanks for responding!

Right -

Pooter - how soon is now is depressing but LOADS of Smiths and Morriseey stuff is HILARIOUS. Morrissey gets me laughing my head off he is so melodramatic! I love it! I will make you a compilation of FUNNY Smiths and Morrissey stuff so you can enjoy it without getting depressed! I would love to meet up sometime! Where do you live? you can email me at

senatorvass at gmail dot com

Would love to hear from you!

Saz - what a shame that we live so close but neither of us drives! I THINK the community bus just runs at commuter times but I will look into it. Hmmm I am trying to think of an alternative. Any ideas? Maybe we could meet in Colchester though I am not sure how we will pick each other out. Would be fun to try though! Email me at the above address and maybe we can sort something out!

Hello!

I love Coggeshall, it is another of the places that we were interested in buying a house when we first moved here. I seem to end up driving all over the place and would love to come over and play in a new play park! kids might even come too..

shall be in touch
x

Eeenybeeny - I live in Kelvedon and would be happy to pick you up and bring you to my house if we meet here (we are today and you are more than welcome, opposite the Indian in the High St. St Andrews) or elsewhere - I do give Saz a lift though so we wil maybe have to do 2 runs if we meet elsewhere!

Everyone coming today about 10 though so join us uf you can get here.

Mung · 24/04/2008 14:22

Hi eenybeeny. I am not far away from you. I live in Copford.
We could all come to Coggeshall for our next meet up.
The bus that passes the end of my road goes to Braintree and that means it must pass Coggeshall, so you could also get to mine quite easily.

eenybeeny · 24/04/2008 17:12

Hi! so did you all meet up today? I am sorry I couldnt make it I guess I didnt see this in time. My DS naps from 11 to 1 so I am limited to going out after 1 really - you are all MORE than welcome to come here for any meet ups you wish to do but yeah I would be happy to take the bus. The 70 is the only one that goes through Coggeshall.

Hi eenybeeny,

I have to take my kids to the dentist for the first time next thursday a.m. - definitely going to be interesting!!

Popping over to the park in Coggeshall would be the perfect thing to do in the afternoon if the weather is up to it. Are you free next Thursday p.m? i only really do thursdays i'm afraid!

What does everyone else think? does Thursday pm in Coggeshall park sound cool? I don't have a big car but could give lift to one mummy and child if required. I have a spare child seat, so if someone is small enough to squeeze in the middle of the child seats in the back, i can put my dd in the front in her older child seat. i've gone all the way to the canterbury squished in the back before!! does that make any sense??
xx

lucyfer2000 · 25/04/2008 22:11

By the way twinkie we had a lovely time at yours last thursday morning. Thanks for inviting us and for the chocolate eclair -mmm yummy!...

pooter · 25/04/2008 22:56

Hi eeny/everyone else,
Thurs pm is good for us too i think.

Ive just seen Ashton Kutchers webbed toe! (watching jonathon ross as my dh irons!!!!(this is the first time ive seen him iron - i must have honed my nagging skills to perfection!)

eenybeeny · 26/04/2008 00:14

YAY!!! I am so excited!! Thursday pm is fine for me! Alex normally wakes up around 1 from his nap. We can all meet at my house and if the weather is nice head to the park. There is parking around my house but if you cant find a space there is a free car park behind the library off Stoneham Street. email me at senatorvass at gmail dot com and I will give you my address and number. Oh AND maybe bring some clothes for your kids that you dont mind getting mucky as if they want to they can play in our water and sand table. And I have millions of toys! How old are all your kids? I am so looking forward to it!

My Ds goes to pre-school in Marks Tey and I pick him up at 12.30. I could then feed him a sarnie in the car and head to you for 1ish.

My DD is 1 and my DS is nearly 16 3.

eenybeeny · 26/04/2008 10:44

that sounds like a plan Mung! I so envy you Mums who drive!! I am supposed to start lessons soon. I drove years ago but cant remember how. And I only drove an automatic at the time.

SparklyPrincess · 26/04/2008 16:41

Hi, we're up for a visit to the park next Thursday, sounds fun. Never been to Coggeshall before!

Can provide a lift a mum and a child or two as well if anyone from Colchester needs it.

My girls are 2 1/2 and 1.

Will keep an eye out for the return of the dreaded lurgy!

Will email you in a bit...

eenybeeny · 26/04/2008 17:45

Good to hear you will be joining us on Thursday SparklyPrincess!

If any of you would like lunch here just let me know and I can do some jacket potatos with beans and I will have sweets and stuff anyway. I think you will really like the park. I do at least! Lots of things for the littler and bigger children to do! It's about a 5-8 minute walk from my house so you might want to bring a buggy if we are all meeting here.

Saz126 · 26/04/2008 21:15

Hi all, Unfortunately won't be able to make Thurs as DS nap time is 1pm-3pm.

Pooter, er the webbed toe, saw that last night too, hasn't really put me off Ashton though he is very yummy although much too young for me (he is with Demi though, I am younger than her!). Hope your training going well, I did 12 mins on Thurs, woo hoo!

Hope to catch up with you all soon. Have fun on Thursday.

eenybeeny · 26/04/2008 21:19

Sorry you cant make it Saz! Its hard co-ordinating nap times isnt it.

OP posts:
pooter · 26/04/2008 22:20

hiya,
saz - yep, hes scrummy - but ive seen him on his show 'punk'd' and he is such a teenage boy! Nice to look at though.

erm, training......starts tomorrow....Im very impressed with 12 mins - i wont be doing that for months. THought id be ablt to do loads this week as dh is on holiday, but ive done less than usual!

Thursday, DS has variable naps, so i will try to engineer it so he has an early nap and try to get to yours at 1ish, but dont wait for us - we can always meet you at the lpark. Dont worry about food for us - but thankyou very much! Oh yes, and DS is 14months and very very energetic. If you see a vague blur of a crazy haired toddler, it will be him.

Eeny, I will email you in a bit to get your address, and ramble on about morrisey!

eenybeeny · 26/04/2008 22:32

pooter my DS has super crazy hair as well! It's wild! I love it. Hope we can see you Thurs!

By the way I wanted to ask all of you since you are in the area... we are looking to move soon as we are expanding our family and only have a little house. What villages do you live in or what ones are nice around here?

OP posts:
Mung · 27/04/2008 08:57

Do you need to be near to the train station Eenybeeny? That makes a huge difference to where you can live.
Do you want to live in an old house?
I live in Copford and I like it, but there is no real village centre.

I think places like Great Tey, Chappel, Earls Colne and other villages to the north of the A120 are nice.

I grew up in a village called Tollesbury that is on the Blackwater. I love it there, but the village is getting very big. It does have all you need on the doorstep though. It has a huge sailing community and if you like that kind of thing then its a fab place.

I'll chat to you on Thursday about the places I know...
I'll feed DD before picking DS up from pre school and then I'll give DS a sandwich on the way to yours, so don't worry about us.

eenybeeny · 27/04/2008 12:25

GRRRR I just typed a long post and the internet freaked out on me! deep breath...

Mung - I dont particularly need to be near a train station but as I dont drive (yet) a village that had a preschool and doctors would be nice. If it werent for that (or if I were driving) I would be happy to live pretty much anywhere decent. DH works at Broomfield hospital in Chelmsford so he needs to be able to get there in a reasonable amount of time. I dont care if the house is old - the house I am at the moment is over 500 years old But I am happy to go to a modern place as well. I will check out Tollesbury on the net!

OP posts:
pooter · 27/04/2008 14:54

Ive always liked west bergholt. Mainly for the walks to the bluebell woods! But it has a doctors, co-op, pharmacy, primary school etc. Decent bus service to colchester.

We didnt have much of a choice as DH commutes to london - hence living in BRaiswick (but before anyone thinks we are loaded and posh i must add its the least affluent road) I'd love to live in the countryside, but DH would like to live in London...hmm..someone (not me) is going to be disappointed!

eenybeeny · 27/04/2008 17:57

hehe thats it pooter dig in your heels and stay here with us! I will look West Bergholt up as well! Where is Braiswick? I dont know this area very well.

Twinkie1 · 28/04/2008 08:07

We live just down the road in Kelvedon Eeny and there is laods to do and loads of things for the little ones.

Primary School is excellent and there are some nice houses to let in the village.

See you n Thursday if DS feels like going out - he has just said that he is not leaving the house today - little does he know after a shower he is heading to nursery for the day!
