Ok ladies...this one isn't as far as the last one I suggested. I wont accept the 'I'm on holiday' excuse again, unless you are really lucky and manage to have multiple holidays per year. We also have time to train for it (even you will be up again by then Twinkie ). So here it is. Lets get a team together and do it. Who is joining me?

Wow, close call Saz!
So there are 4 of us in our team!
Mung, SP, Saz and Pooter. Im going to dig out my book now and make a detailed training timetable, possibly colour it in with pencil crayons, then ignore it and panic a week before the race....

So do you all run already?
Mung where are you with the plan? SP is on week 3, what about you saz? I really am not kidding when i say i am incredibly unfit! But i'm willing to give it a go. I belong to a gym but have just been handing over lots of money and not going for the past 3 months.

lucyfer2000 · 21/04/2008 21:26

Sat here stuffing myself with biscuits feeling very fat and lazy!!

Good on you girls - you almost had me going there. I have been trying to think of some way of getting fit for ages - but hate running! It looks like I was saved by the bell!

Good Luck - rest assured you have all got to be fitter me than me, i thought i was going to collapse last time i tried to run around the village!!

Mung · 21/04/2008 21:30

Yeah....well done girls! We will be able to go to the pub together after running the 5k!

Pooter...colouring in - what a true teacher trait .

I think I am on week 2. To be honest, I didn't read it very well and seem to have made up my own mind, but I have been on 3 runs after doing NO exercise since I was about 4 months pregnant with DS. 2 babies and a whole lot of extra lbs later and I am so unfit, so there is no need to panic.

Lucyfer, I am the most unfit person ever definitely, but I figured that they say you can walk it, I'm not too bad at walking! That last place might still be there, you sure you don't want to give it a go?!

I haven't started plan, I will start Thursday - will run in London too at lunch time but will leave that for a few weeks time when I don't have to keep stopping - just in case I bump into anyone I know enroute! Just spoken to father in law, he finds it very funny - I'll show 'em, now where did I put those old trainers!

Mung · 21/04/2008 21:38

Good on you Saz.

Lucyfer...get on the website and get that final place. I hated running too, but when you are allowed to walk for the first few weeks, its actually quite good

ooh lucyfer, you are an environmental consultant (sorry was being nosey looking at yr profile!) how interesting! My degree was in Environmental Management and i did loads of voluntary work before giving up and earning money (selling out!!). One of my friend works for the Environmental Academy - well, she's the director - dont suppose you've heard of it?

Mung - yes, any excuse to get the crayons out. I used to give my sixth formers colouring in to do for anatomy lessons! apparently they use it for med students at uni too!

Souns like we are all pretty much at a similar stage of (un)fitness, so i feel slightly better. Im going to start tomorrow. Honestly.

Saz126 · 21/04/2008 21:45

The last place has gone! Ah, just the four of us then. I'm really excited now (she says as she's vegging out with a bar of dairy milk).

sophierosie · 21/04/2008 22:25

Just seen this thread - well done girls! I'll come along and cheer you all on - and provide you all with tinfoil blankets and lucozade at the end

SparklyPrincess · 22/04/2008 10:08

Lol at the colouring in - my old physics teacher used to call geography a-level colouring in ... it's a fair point! I consider it art for the completely unartistic... don't use it in 6th form lessons much tho' pooter ... drawing magnetic fields is about the limit and they're invariably rubbish at that.

Right, week 3 run 2 tonight. Hope the sun stays shining, that'll be nice and it'll be lovely to get out of the screaming zone...

Sophie - not really a fan of lucozade I'm afraid ... , bucket of water followed by a cold beer will do nicely!

Twinkie1 · 22/04/2008 11:20

Sorry guys - would have done it - I promise but it is now closed!

Mung · 22/04/2008 14:44

ummmmm...cold beer in the sunshine. I can't wait!
