Hi all,

On Wednesday 7th August between 10:00 - 15:30 the School of Computing at Newcastle University are hosting a free day where parents can bring their children to take part in a range of computer science activities.

On the day there will be the following activities:
Network boxes: How does the web work? – Ages 7+
mBot2: Block-based programming – Ages 7+
Turing Tumble: Marble powered computers – Ages 8+
Programming a Minecraft world in Python – Ages 11+
Spirographs: Creating graphics using Python Turtles? – Ages 11+
mBot2: Python programming – Ages 11+
Arduino robot: C++ programming – Ages 15+

All of the activities will run concurrently, and people can drop-in and out of sessions as and when they want to.

For more information, please see the following page on the University's website.

Happy to answer any questions.

This looks amazing! Bit late to the party, but do you have any recommendations for online programming kids can use if we can't afford to travel to the University or for future reference?
