Hello all ,

I'd really like to get to know who the other MNers in Nottingham are, so I thought I'd start this thread, and hopefully, everyone else will add their details (MN name, any dcs, area)!

Neeerly 3, I went to school in Rainworth and grew up in Ravenshead so v close to you! Am 36.

GothMummy · 22/08/2008 00:03

Hi there
I just joined. I live in Beeston, work part time and have a son aged 2 1/2.... we have lots of lovely friends from toddler groups but everyone seems to have girls round here! And I would love to get to know some other mums of boys as I think they sometimes have different "issues" to girls ... just be nice to talk to other mums of boys about behavior etc sometimes!

PuppyMonkey · 22/08/2008 13:08

Used to work in Beeston. Used to go out with a goth! We have so much in common!!! Unfortunately, I have girls....

Neerly, where does your boss live? I can stalk him/her if you like..

bogie · 22/08/2008 13:11

bogie · 22/08/2008 13:13

PuppyMonkey · 22/08/2008 13:14

What St Margaret Clitherow and Christ the King??!! Really!!!! I bet I'm about 30 years older than you though aren't I?

Neeerly3 · 22/08/2008 13:14

jackstini - alot of my social crowd live in Ravo, i moved up here 7 years ago, lived in Newstead for 6 months (long enough for anyone) and then Papplewick for a year, which I LOVED, but then met DH and we could not afford a shed in Papplewick, let alone a nice house, so moved to Blid.

bogie · 22/08/2008 13:20

Yep St Margaret Clitherow and Christ the King not quite 30 years maybe 20 But I feel about 70 years old at the moment waddeling around with a huge bump
I wonder if we had any of the same teachers?

PuppyMonkey · 22/08/2008 13:33

Bogie, Congrats on the bump - I left Christ the King in 1985 (after sixth form), if that gives you any clues...

Margaret Clitherow: Mis Franczak {sp??); Mrs Wade; Mr O'Neill (who I happen to know is STILL there)

Christ the King: Who can I remember??? Mr Bates obviously (Chemistry). Mr Riley (RE). Mr Cowley (maths). Mr Gough Jones (English). that snotty art teacher woman. Mrs Ellis (needlework)...

Go on throw me some names in too.....

I'm going to have to know your real name in a minute...

bogie · 22/08/2008 13:53

Mr O Neill left this year I heard!
Mrs Witko, Mrs Baggley, Mrs Chambers, Mr Grey.

CTK Mr Doust (head), Mr Dirkin (chemistry), Mrs Wheat (art), Mrs Kitchenson (cooking and textiles) Mr Bussy (deputy), Mr & Mrs Swabey, Mrs Pike Music, Mr Heath (geography).

Not sure how long any of those had been there but surly some where there when you were.

PuppyMonkey · 22/08/2008 13:56

Nah, I don't know most of them. You must be younger than me. Mr Dirkin yes he was there at CTK though!

bogie · 22/08/2008 13:57

I think he is still there!

pinkmagic1 · 24/08/2008 22:48

Wow, great that there's loads of MNetters around in Nottm - so who's going to do a proper list of all the who's who's? Seeing as I did the original post, I might come back in a couple of days and sort it out.

Hi
Would love to meet up with other mumsnetters in Nottingham. I'm in WB and a single mum - but finding it hard to meet other mums here because I moved here when baby was 3 months old (now 22 months) and in my experience, if you don't meet people at antenatal, you aint got a chance (but I am quite shy)...

pamelat · 30/10/2008 12:58

I live in WB too. DD is 9.5 months.
Am on maternity leave so can meet up most days, Tuesday, Thurs or Friday afternoons good.
