Any pregnant ladies in Leicestershire - did you have a 12 week scan?

My GP told me at my booking in appointment that Leicestershire doesn't send mums for routine scans at 12 weeks any more, you just get the 20 week scan for abnormalities. Is this right? I had my previous baby in Nottinghamshire so had assumed a 12 week scan was a normal check-up everywhere. I'm not really sure about my dates due to irregular periods, so was hoping a dating scan would mkae things clearer.

I'm not pregnant but have two friends who are (due mid june and july) and they've both had scans - i think they were actually about 14 weeks, but still have had 2 scans

i had a baby in leicester 18 months ago and had 12 and 20 week scans. I have friends who are pg now and had 12 week scans, some of which were a bit late at about 14/15 weeks..
what you were told sounds totally wrong and very penny pinching!

i had a 12wk scan at lri, i thought they always did these to confirm dates!

I'm in Leicester and had 12 and 20 week scans, all sorted out routinely by mw. Definitely question this with your midwife, sounds like your GP might be misinformed.

I am 18 weeks pregnant and I had a 12 week scan though no word of a 20 week scan yet. I would call your midwife!

I gave birth to a dd 15th Feb this year at the LRI - I had both a 12-week and a 20-week scan. Having previously miscarried, I found the 12-week scan really, really reassuring.
