Hyde Park Picture House are starting to do special mum and baby afternoon screenings, hurrah! The first event will be a showing of "Lars and the Real Girl" on Wednesday 23rd April. Doors will open at 1pm and the film will start at 1.30pm. Tickets are £3.50 for mum and baby.
Please go along if you can - if nobody attends, the cinema is unlikely to repeat the event.
HPPH is on Brudenell Road and you can usually park just by the cinema. The 56 bus stops right outside or you can get a train to Burley Park (take Cardigan Road exit). Further info and map at www.hydeparkpicturehouse.co.uk or ring 0113 275 2045.

ok, im not prudish and i would totally be into taking my wee one to a film, but isn't it a 15 about a guy and a blow up sex doll?!?
i guess for babies it doesn't matter, but, not for toddlers? my 18mth old hasn't seen any tv yet, think i might start him on something a bit less dubious!

i hope that didn't sound too pious. i do support the Hyde Park Cinema, i think its great, and i think parent and baby screenings a good idea too, but not misogynist hollywood trite! motherhood hasn't destroyed all my tastes even if i do eat chewed tofu off the floor now.

I'm not too sure about that film, haven't read anything about it yet, but am sooo pleased they are doing mother and baby screenings! I have been moaning about the lack of mother and baby screenings for a while. I've taken my little one to normal screenings during the day before. I've taken him in in his sling and have just made sure I had lots of snacks with me (and a feeding bra on.)
