Is there such a thing?
Was hoping to use tesco clubcard vouchers but you can only use them for weekend breaks now, 2 night minimum stay

Anyway we were hoping for somewhere fairly close to the zoo for dh and I and 2 dcs aged 4 and 2 mid may.

There's a Premier Inn near to Haymarket Station. You'd get a bus from there to the zoo very easily. No idea about the Tesco vouchers though.

Thanks amum, I saw that one on the premier inn website, but I'm guessing it will be very limited for parking in that area, or do you know if there is a decent amount of parking at haymarket station?

I think the station parking is quite limited, and probably expensive. There used to be an NCP car park at Morrison Street, very close by, but I've half an idea it got built on... I've not gone past that junction recently - you could try the NCP website and see if it's still there - if so, it's very near.

To be honest, if you want to park in central Edinburgh you'll find it difficult and expensive, the council are doing their best to discourage people from using cars at the moment.

There are a number of small hotels in the Newington area which might have parking for their guests - they tend to be big old houses and the front garden gives a few parking places.

Oh, but Newington is way the wrong side for the zoo.

By the way, it might be worth putting this same question in UK or weekend breaks, I'm not sure that many people will be seeing it in local...

thankas again Amum, I might just do that.

There's also a ton of roadworks in central Edinburgh and its about to get worse when they close Shandwiok Place next week (which will affect the entire area around Haymarket end of town)...

The NCP car park at Morrison St is still there. I dont think its ever had a layer of tarmac on it though .

I'd recommend trying to find somewhere near the zoo (cant suggest anwhere though, sorry) and travelling into central Edinburgh when you need to. It's really not far by bus and would save on the parking worries.

thanks dramaqueen.

the marriot is close to the zoo, usually they have deals on for db and b which is pretty cheap, im sure children under a certain age go free as well.
