Hello,
my partner, myself, our three year old and baby are tentatively house hunting in Oxford and would love some advice!
our situation is we are looking for a 3-4 bed with a garden, cycle distance from the station & town centre. Our budget is around 600,000 but we are hoping to wait for interest rates to become a bit more normal before moving (we are in absolutely no rush to move!)
We’re living in north London, in a village aesthetic part near Hampstead Heath (renting) and have been here for over ten years. We love it and use both the ‘wild’ space of the heath & the city museums, galleries, cinemas etc a lot. Leaving London is going to potentially be really hard! However our place was tiny for two people and is minuscule for four.
We would hugely appreciate advice on any areas of Oxford that might provide some of the mix of things we enjoy in London: access to green space, a bit of a local buzz without being too rowdy, some nice old terraces…
so far we’ve liked Osney and Sommertown (although a bit above our budget!) thought New Hinksy v pretty, although a little put off by the bypass noise. Wondering about St Clements south to Florence Hill…
We both work from home, so that’s not an issue. Schools are a factor though.
thanks!
