Harrogate Meetup- anyone interested?

Hi all you harrogate locals- I'm new to all this but thought I'd get the ball rolling, not really sure how it all works but what the hell...I would love to get together with local mums, and get to know a few other people in the area by meeting up for drinks,not sure what sort yet its up to you, anyone interested?

Oh and am still remembering how gorgeous that cheesecake was, mmmmmmmmmm........ I did like the tomatoey potatoes (patatas bravas?) too.

Hi, I am up for a Tues/Thurs meet up depending on the time. I can bring new baby anytime but have the school run to do - if it was a nice day it would be nice to go to the park (Valley Gardens?) and meet after school so they can have a run around!! Only a suggestion - I am up for anything (well almost)

PS does anyone have or know anyone who has a 2 or 3 bed home to rent in Harrogate??? - I know I should start a new thread but thought you would be more likely to look at this one!!

I can do Tues or Thurs afternoon equally well and I think it would be really nice to have a +children meetup. Whether I can come or not really depends on how portable my own little one turns out to be once he or she is born... hopefully I will get breastfeeding sussed and that will make it easier. My due date is in 9 days time' - I'm getting really excited now!!!

it is exhausting, its my day off though today, and i'm lost, already walked the dog, haven't the energy to clear the house, nothing new there, do i go to the gym, urghhh just the thought makes me want to collapse, no energy today, what a waste...whwn is this meet up happening?

Oh dook look after yourself and take your rest while you can! I am very impressed you are still going to the gym at all - I had stopped everything except pilates ever since the 1st trimester bleurgh phase.

re meet up. Well, my baby should be here within a few days - my waters broke yesterday, although contractions haven't started at all yet. So if it's not TOO soon I may well be on for coming depending on what the baby is like esp if there is going to be opportunity to sit down / change nappies etc. There seems to be a magical 6 week timepoint after which babies are much more robust, is this right or just antenatal class mythology?

When are you due though? don't want to leave it until you're on the point of giving birth!!

a while yet, 19 june is supposed to be the big day, can't wait. this resting thing seems easier said than done, everyone says , oh you must rest but where is the time, you must be really excited, in fact baby might have arrived by now, lots of luck I shall be thinking of you, more robust after 6 weeks, well i never heard of that but i suppose there must be something in it, i do remember feeling pretty much back to normal after 6 weeks, well as normal as it gets, oh i'm so glad i have another on the way, as i feel quite envious and broody at your impending arrival

Is it okay to invade the thread now?
About to move to Harrogate in 2 wks(hopefully)
Don't know anyone and will need to meet other mums, especially for socialising purposes.
DD is 21 months now and we both need to get out.

Well, the baby arrived a few days ago and I am now officially a proper mum! It's a boy!!
As predicted he's a bit on the big side - V chubby and cute! Hope I do feel back to normal after 6wks tho, I keep forgetting that I don't have to do the pregnancy waddle anymore!!!!!

Hi pennytiff I am sure you will like Harrogate, it's lovely.

Hi pennytiff, my dd is 2.5 and i have another due in june, it would be lovely to meet up, we are supposed to be organising a meet up in the day with the children, so we could mmet there, where are you moving from?

Congratulations Sally, I'm delighted for you. So how are you finding early motherhood then? And what name have you decided on? I must say, I am impressed: on the computer within days of your baby being being born. I could barely find time to have a shower in thiose early days!
