Any parents helping teens commute to N. Oxford secondary schools from Iffley Village/Rose Hill?

Hello, I hope that someone living in East Oxford may be kind enough to reply to this question from their precious store of wisdom-born-of-experience!

We'll shortly be moving to East Oxford (think Iffley Village/Rose Hill border)... I have secondary age DC who attend a North Oxford secondary school, and will be having to take them by car early each weekday to school in N Oxford, from January 2022. Having already tried this out at commuter time/rush hour (think 8am-ish), it was quite an eye opener: much slower than usual, bumper to bumper traffic, using up lots of petrol stopping/starting, coming up the Iffley Road to The Plain, then up Longwall St, Parks Rd, Banbury Rd etc. Roadworks plus extra restrictions after Magdalen Bridge due to building works not helping either. Does anyone here do this kind of commute regularly by car? What would be incredibly useful to know, is actually whether there is any kind of (dare I whisper it) 'rat-run', when I'm coming north up the Iffley Road early mornings, whereby I could maybe turn right towards the Cowley Road (to get out of the standing rush hour traffic on Iffley Rd), and then maybe rejoin the main route to Magdalen Bridge at The Plain, maybe from the Cowley Road? - Reason I'm asking for recent local knowledge, is that recently, there have been a few new LTNs set up (Low Traffic Neighbourhoods) in Oxford, so a road that might formerly have been as expected, might now turn out to be a dead end or one way...adding serious minutes, lateness plus frustration to our journey!

I realise I'll probably be lucky to get a reply from anyone who might be in a similar position, but thank you in advance if anyone can shine some light onto this tricky morning commute! Flowers
